Wenso is looking for a Junior Business Analyst to join our ever-expanding IT delivery team. You will work on large scale IT projects and work directly with key external stakeholders, Senior Business Analysts and Project Managers. You will be dealing with complex processes, providing reports and data analysis that will be crucial to the successful running of our clients’ projects. In this role it is essential that you are a highly analytical thinker, as you will be responsible for improving reporting methods and analytics for many external clients.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Assist in acquiring and documenting business processes and identify areas for potential process improvement.

• Work on client facing projects in a mix of onsite and offsite consultation models.

• Assist in reviewing and evaluating business benefit cases and requests for change, producing feasibility reports that establish the justification for any future project work.

• Help to organise and facilitate workshops, interviews and meetings with business stakeholders and their delegates to capture and document the existing business process and desired changes, using standard process modelling techniques.

• Assist in documenting existing processes and design new business processes using standard process modelling techniques.

• Play a key role in project execution, liaising daily with the internal IT and business teams.

• Contribute to the effective management of projects including risk and issue management, scope and change management.

• Travel to client locations within the UK.

Essential criteria:

  1. A minimum of a 2.1 degree in a related field.
  2. At least 1-year experience in a commercial environment.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, including a strong understanding of pivot tables.
  4. Be able to demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. An understanding of industry standard analysis techniques such as data flow modelling and workflow analysis.
  6. Strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task.
  7. Strong communication, presentation and English language skills

We are looking for a client-facing Data Protection Officer to join our growing team of GDPR and data protection experts. This role will entail acting as the appointed and dedicated DPO for several of our esteemed clients. This position will be based from our Manchester head office but there may be travel involved to client sites in various parts of the UK and internationally.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. To provide data protection advice and guidance to a portfolio of clients in line with GDPR regulations
  2. To ensure your assigned clients are processing personal data of their data subjects in compliance with the GDPR
  3. To investigate and raise awareness to clients on their data protection rights, obligations and responsibilities
  4. Maintain internal and external privacy compliance audits as required
  5. Handle queries or complaints on request by the client, the client’s controller, data subjects or on your own initiative
  6. Draw the client’s attention to any failure to comply with the applicable data protection rules
  7. To remain highly professional with the ability to handle confidential information, remain impartial and report all non-compliances

Skills required:

  1. Expert knowledge of data protection laws – at least 5 years within a similar role
  2. Expert knowledge of GDPR and its implications
  3. Strong prior experience as a Privacy / Data Protection Officer in or advising on Privacy / Data Protection issues
  4. Familiarity with Information and Cyber security risks and information security standards
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  6. The ability to work to tight deadlines
  7. The ability to engage with stakeholders
  8. The ability to create reports and other materials
  9. Deep understanding of applicable European and UK Privacy laws and regulations
  10. Experience of working within multiple sectors
  11. Data Privacy Professional certification (IAPP, CIPP/E or EU GDPR Certified Practitioner)
  12. Proven ability to recognise and deliver incisive, reliable and sound advice and solutions to varying clients on complex business matters
  13. A willingness to travel to client sites on an ad hoc basis – own transport needed (all expenses paid for)
  14. Will ideally come from a legal background or have a qualification in this area
